Menus are named. Should I bother giving each a unique name since duplicate names are supported?

A menu will not be saved until you fill in the Menu Name box. You can name a menu for a special occasion, for a family or members of a family, for customers, etc.  A unique name helps you find exactly the menu you are looking for when you use "Find a Menu" so it will be helpful to you to uniquely name a menu plan.

There are not any recipes available in the list? How come?

Select a cookbook or cookbooks and a category or categories or select all and a list of recipes will be displayed.

I’ve made entries out of date sequence and now I want to them by date order.  How do I do that?

Place the cursor in the date field and then select ‘Sort Ascending’ from the ‘Tools’ menu or print the menu.  After you have exited, the next time you look at the menu, it will appear in date, meal order.

How do I enter the recipe date?

Place the cursor in the date field of the menu item that you are planning.  Make sure the calendar is set to the date that you want to plan the item for.  Double click the date field.  If you’ve made an erroneous date entry, correct it by making sure that the calendar is set to the correct date, placing the cursor in the field that needs correction, and then double clicking.

How do I nutritionally analyze an entire menu?

Plan or find the menu that you want analyzed.  Select only recipes that have complete nutritional information.  Click the ‘scales’ icon at the top of the page.  Your entire menu plan will be analyzed, grouped and totaled by meal.

When I plan a menu, I see categories appearing multiple times on the category menu.  Why is that?

This happens sometimes when recipes are imported that have categories that are longer than can be displayed in the ‘Pick a Category’ box.  CookenPro keeps 50 characters, but does not always display all 50.  Typically, these categories are something like:

“Appetizer                                     Salad” and

“Appetizer                                      Meat”

You can adjust category by using the ‘Find a Recipe’ view.  Just put the cursor behind “Salad” or “Meat” and use the backspace key to take unnecessary characters out of a category name.
