BARRINGTON, ILLINOIS – October 21, 2002 – Barrington Software offers a complete back office solution for restaurants, caterers, and institutional food service operations, including inventory control capabilities.   CookenPro® 3.0 Commercial software exports the inventory to excel.  It can then be easily transferred to a handheld device, opened, modified during a physical counting, and imported back into CookenPro®.  No other software is required.  Barrington Software Inc. is now an authorized Palm™ reseller.  Customers can conveniently and economically purchase a Palm™ handheld device already equipped with Excel, along with their software program.  The customer is then fully equipped to perform inventory reconciliation. 

CookenPro® 3.0 Commercial provides recipe and menu management, costing, nutritional analysis, automated purchase order generation, and receivables management.  Scale recipes for the number of people to be served and view and print those scaled recipes.  CookenPro® features easy communication of data, including entire menu plans.  Recipes and ingredients are seamlessly included when a menu plan is communicated to another computer. 

This easy communication of data enables Barrington Software to provide support to its Commercial customers as they build their database.  Barrington Software is also able to build the entire database for a customer for a modest fee if data are provided in electronic form.

The new CookenPro® 3.0 Home Version has many of the same features as the Commercial version, making it ideal for entertaining.  Consumers can carry a holiday grocery list, which they get from CookenPro as a result of a menu plan, on their handheld device.  The nutrition analyzer, based on the U.S. Department of Agriculture Nutrient Database Release 14, allows for easy nutritional analysis and is ideal for consumers or for wellness and nutrition clinics.
